The Pontius Pilates inadvertently encourage people to spread falsehoods that ensnare people in a vicious web of deceit. The insecure find it easier to believe and spread the hatred, rather than address it and determine its validity. Like most big fish in little ponds, the honest and staunch remain, and they become nothing but shadows on a wall.
